We have had the 2009 Monteti Caburnio in the shop before and it became one of our favorites to take home and enjoy with dinner and by itself. We would try other reds but kept coming back to Monteti Caburnio. This vintage is different but not in a bad way. While I will be looking for a new daily drinker, this one will be on the top of my list for quality.
Aroma: earth, juniper, musky Palate: Cranberry, clay, persimmon, cedar, thyme, sea salt Finish: medium length, dry, sweeter finish, cranberry and tannin stay behind Overall: 6/7 for perceived quality in my book. This bone-dry wine was stellar.
Take this one home and enjoy it now or cellar it for 5 years (or maybe more).
